Military Women get makeovers from TallGrass volunteers
EVERGREEN CO - On Saturday, September 12, volunteers from TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon, located in Evergreen, Colorado, participated in the 5th annual Women Veterans of Colorado conference by providing hair and makeup services to the military women in attendance.
Setting up a pop-up salon in the lobby of the conference center at the Inverness Hotel in Englewood, TallGrass volunteer stylists and makeup artists offered mini-makeovers to conference attendees who then had headshots taken for LinkedIn profiles and resumes.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary this year, TallGrass is honoring military women with a season full of events, kicked-off by its participation in the WVOC conference.
"For 20 years, TallGrass has been showing women how to care for themselves," says spa owner Gail Ridings. "It is a privilege to focus on military women and show them appreciation for everything they do for our country. We can't think of a better way to celebrate than by giving them pampering spa experiences. That's what we do best."
Entries are being accepted now for a drawing to select 50 military women who will receive complimentary spa services valued at up to $100 each at TallGrass during the week of November 9. The deadline to enter is October 4 and every military woman - active, retired, reserve - is eligible to enter by calling TallGrass and submitting her name and contact information.
Expanding its Soldier Box Project, which for the past 7 years assembles and sends care packages to troops in Afghanistan, TallGrass is increasing the goal to at least 100 packages for the holiday shipment in November. Additionally, four extreme makeover candidates were selected from among those receiving mini-services at the WVOC conference. These military women will be welcomed to TallGrass in November for complete makeovers, just in time for Veterans Day.
