TallGrass Wins Top Honors 2012

DAYSPA Magazine Recognizes TallGrass "Top Website" for Improving Guest Experience

TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon in Evergreen, Colorado, has added another prize to its considerable list of awards and recognitions with DAYSPA magazine's Top Honors 2012. The monthly spa business publication saluted TallGrass in its January issue with the Top Website honor, awarded for an "online web presence that not only provides information about treatments and services, but also helps to improve the overall guest experience."

In the cover story, an interview with TallGrass owner Gail Ridings details the evolution of the www.TallGrassSpa.com site that acts as a portal of communication with guests, before they even make an appointment or set foot in the door. Ms. Ridings and her website team designed a one-stop information center with ever-changing photo galleries and video tutorials, instantly printable gift certificates, online appointment requests, and tips for first-timers or gift buyers, along with newsletters and blogs that set up a dialogue between the spa and its guests. "Taking away the guesswork and creating familiarity are very important to building client trust and relationships," explains Ms. Ridings.

Continually focused on emphasizing the spa's brand, the look of the website is inspired by its Rocky Mountain foothills location. "You'll always see photos of where we are, what we look like and how we operate," Ms. Ridings explains, "because it's our beautiful mountain meadow location and our commitment to awe and inspiring customer service that sets us apart from every other Denver area spa."

The website was launched in 1997 and continues to be a work in progress. Constant updates keep it fresh, interesting and topical. "We can't just say 'Okay, we're done with our website and we'll look at it again next year,'" Ms. Ridings says. "We are always looking at ways to tweak it and make it better."

The DAYSPA Magazine award joins a host of recognitions from local, regional and national publications such as American Spa, Sunset, Allure, Lucky, O the Oprah magazine, 5280 and Denver magazines along with "best of" awards from the likes of Channel 7 A-List, Rocky Mountain News and AOL City Guide plus a Top 100 Women-Owned Businesses honor from ColoradoBiz magazine.
