First, our “Transitions 10” second annual hair and fashion show was an amazing success. It was our version of New York’s Fashion Week that we brought to Evergreen for one night. We wowed ‘em all. Thanks and congratulations to everyone involved!

Our 15th Anniversary is coming up on Thursday, November 4, and we’re celebrating with a party, so be sure to put it on your calendar and plan to join us. And, join us on every Thursday in October, too, because we are thanking the community by offering the “15th Anniversary Massage” at a reduced cost of $75 and donating 100% of the proceeds to area non-profits. On Thursday, October 14, when Evergreen Animal Protective League is in the spotlight, we’ll be holding a dog and cat adoption right here at TallGrass. Come and meet a cuddly new pet to curl up with this winter.

Soldiers who received our care boxes this summer sent letters. Deb Dickinson, a TallGrass team member, read excerpts from them and had us all in tears at our last “Information Celebration” (that’s what we call our bi-monthly all-staff meetings). One soldier wrote that watching another soldier read a letter from a complete stranger was like watching a child open a Christmas gift. We will be sending more care boxes after the first of the year and we would love it if you, your friends and family – especially your children – would write notes to include in the next mailing.
