Is there anyone more loved than a mother!

If I don’t have any human children, can I still be called a “mother”?  Someone suggested that I’m a mom to our animals – 3 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats – and quite possibly to my husband. I know how much time and energy tending to my brood takes and can only imagine how much more complicated, exhausting and rewarding it must be to take care of children.

For those of you who are visiting TallGrass to celebrate Mother’s Day or any important occasion, be sure to ask us to take your picture. We’ll put your photo in a special frame. It’s our complimentary gift to you.

And speaking of celebrations – how time flies! – my husband and I will have been married six years on May 7. We are so excited to spend our anniversary evening in the stunning new Tree House Suite at Evergreen’s Highland Haven Creekside Inn by invitation from our dear friends, Tom and Gail who own the Inn. If you have a romantic evening coming up, we highly recommend reserving this fantastic treat at Highland Haven, just down the road from TallGrass…which makes it incredibly easy to add to the romance with a TallGrass Tango!

Happy Spring!

Dad's love
Growing up, my mom was not my favorite, but my dad was my entire world. He is no longer with us and died right after I visited him for the last time in a hospital, but he taught me how to carry on with optimism, how to love unconditionally and how to give. A veteran of WWII and the Korean War, he taught me how to stand up for myself and carry on with honor and respect. His spirit remains with me, especially now as we get close to father's day!
