March 2026
I just came back from a wonderful five-day getaway with friends.
It was perfect in every way – the location, the weather, the food, the activities, and especially the laughter and stories that a compatible group shares. As lovely as the vacation was, I'm just as happy to return home to my life back in Colorado, to my ranch and animals, of course, and also to my work at TallGrass. I remember clearly the dread and anxiety I used to have when, back in my corporate days, my vacation ended. I was always wishing I could stay another week or even another
month. And now, I'm excited to get back and check in on my TallGrass family. How fortunate I am to love my company and still have meaningful purpose at my work and my ranch.
During the trip, we talked about how much we can influence our experience of living and the ways we create our lives with our thoughts. If we think things will go badly, they probably will. If we focus on gratitude for all we have instead of what we don't, we can bring more goodness and more appreciation into our lives. Although it's pretty easy for me at this stage of life – less drama and fewer problems – I recognize that others are experiencing more challenges and it's harder.
Still, looking for goodness is always the goal.
For me, these next three months are full of promise. Spring! My favorite time! Weather ups and downs. New life. More sunshine. I'm thrilled to head outside each day.
I hope you will focus on the goodness in your life and enjoy the beauty and promise of Spring!
