Message from Gail Sharp
October 2025

Oh, the world feels so fragile and challenging right now.
Global events, political climate, and – closer to home – a horrific day at Evergreen High School this past month. Add to that, a dear friend's husband diagnosed with ALS. How do we endure it all? How do we comfort each other? It seems that we have so few solutions. It can be easy to succumb to despair. How dare I be joyful, positive, hopeful? It sometimes feels like I must be miserable. A wise woman counseled me many years ago, telling me that a good solution to ease pain, sadness,
and fear is to look for a way to help someone. Even a tiny effort. Give and be present. Serve. That's in line with the Rotary motto: "Service above Self." So hard, but so critical. That, and a refocus on gratitude for what we do have.
In that spirit, we are again collecting toiletries for backpacks for homeless veterans throughout Colorado. I met with a manager of the Bill Daniels Veterans Service Center in Denver and he reminded me that many men and women who leave the military are thrust into society without the support, specific rules, and culture of the armed forces. Many join the military because they don't have a strong family and are searching for a way to belong. Without group support, they can flounder. Add to that
the normal issues of a tight housing market and the everyday stresses of life, and many veterans end up on the street. With winter coming, the difficulties are overwhelming.
One item that we have been asked to include in each backpack is a disposable rain poncho. TallGrass will underwrite the cost of the backpacks and ponchos. So, if you don't have time to shop for the much-needed backpack items on our list, we will gratefully accept your donation towards these costs. (Here's our flyer with the list of items and the QR code below makes a cash donation easy.) Over the many
years of our campaign to help homeless veterans, we typically pack 500 backpacks each year. With your support, we hope to hit that number again this year!
Today, I will focus on gratitude for the beautiful weather, the gorgeous fall colors, my connections with my friends, my family here at TallGrass (that includes you!), and my animals. I am surrounded by gifts. And, I will focus on giving back. Calls, cards, walks, hugs of support to those who need it. Donations to causes both large and small.
We will hold onto our gratitude and each other and keep moving forward with as much grace and love as we can muster. Hang in there!
I hope to see you all soon in our peaceful valley.

Seasonal Services

Leave it to us to find the best way to welcome autumn with a trio of seasonal services that highlight harvest time, with ingredients like yam and pumpkin, cranberry and pomegranate, cinnamon and clove, and turmeric. These seasonal services are available October through December.
Let's start with our Harvest Glow Facial, an anti-oxidant treatment that includes a double cleanse, skin analysis, and a gentle peel. Yam and pumpkin naturally brighten while lime stimulates circulation for a healthy glow. A hand and arm massage with warming mitts is also included along with a Gua Sha facial ritual.
Next is our Fall Equinox Massage & Scrub, an aromatic massage-scrub combo that begins with a Cranberry Pomegranate sugar scrub, followed by a full body massage featuring aromas of cinnamon and clove. An application of Eminence's citrus Yuzu Body Oil completes your experience. And, may we recommend the addition of an Apricot Oil Scalp Elevation.
Don't miss our Warming Turmeric and Gemstone Pedicure, formulated with turmeric, citrine gemstones, and zeolite in a fluffy foot masque that increases circulation and envelopes your feet in warmth. The turmeric treatment is followed by a foot and leg massage with Stonecrop oil and lotion. As always, nail maintenance and your choice of polish is included.

A herding mix, bursting with brains, energy, and personality, she plays hard, naps hard, and sleeps a solid 8+ hours a night. She also loves water – she thinks she is a water dog – and LOVES to splash and swim.
