Message from Gail Sharp

 "We strive to give back to the world."
That's one of the value statements that guides us at TallGrass. To be perfectly honest (yep – that's me!), in the first part of my life, before I opened TallGrass, I was all about getting! No time to give, serve, assist. I was building a career, buying a house, getting cute clothes. That's not to say I'm now living in austerity. I mean, who else do you know who has baby goats just for fun? But, I've come to realize that true happiness and purpose comes from giving back.
I'll never be able to do enough to show my gratitude for the incredible life I lead. So, these next two months at TallGrass are particularly meaningful to me. Our Soldier Box packing day is next Friday, November 15. It's a joyous, heartwarming day of service. Sending boxes of travel size toiletries and greeting cards to our men and women serving in the Middle East is an amazing opportunity to brighten the holidays for brave people who are away from home. If you haven't gotten involved, I
encourage you to do so right now! Then in early December, TallGrass and our team members purchase giant holiday stockings to give away at Mountain Resource Center's children's holiday party. We stuff them with toys for Santa and Mrs. Claus to give to children of families who are struggling to make ends meet. A few of the parents have told us that these stockings are the only gifts their children receive. The day is filled with holiday fun, including crafts and music and cookies, and it is
beyond heartwarming. I've been goingto this party for over 20 years and never fail to leave with happy tears in my eyes. I hope that you will join us in striving to give back to the world this holiday season and that you, too, will agree: It's better to give than receive.
