August 2019

Excitement and frustration.

These are the emotions I've been feeling with the two remodeling projects currently underway – one at my house and the other at TallGrass. It's been so much fun to plan and pick out new flooring, cabinets, light fixtures, etc. But then comes the disappointment of delays. Whoops…the cabinets won't be delivered on the dates promised. Whoops…the floor refinishing didn't go as expected. The wrong dishwasher is delivered. The lights are the wrong size. And, there's dirt and dust and commotion all over the place!

You get the idea because you've probably gone through this yourself. It's frustrating and, at the same time, mixed with anticipation. In a way, it's similar to a "remodel" that we undertake on ourselves. Two steps forward, one step back. The key for me is to focus on the two steps moving ahead and not get too discouraged by the one step back.

By the first full week of August, we should have an entirely new hair salon for you to enjoy. We are tingling with excitement to see the finished makeover. New flooring, new cabinets, new lighting. Please stop in the hair salon on your next visit, take a look around, and share our joy.

And – best of luck to you with any remodeling project you are doing, be it on your home, on your office, or on yourself.
