Message from Gail Sharp, TallGrass Owner

Gail Our fabulous Heather Glenn, the team leader of our skin care department, went to an Aveda retreat several months ago. She loved every minute of the time she spent there, expanding her knowledge of Aveda products and healthy lifestyles. And, she learned a few simple words to help in times of stress: Accept and Adjust. Easy to remember, very profound.

Accept and Adjust are perfect words for me to repeat to myself when thinking about our Meditation Room construction. We planned to have the room complete and ready for occupancy in the first few weeks of October. But, because of so many rain delays, we are still just trying to finish the foundation! Accept and Adjust.

Of course, much of life is out of our control, so the way to peace and serenity is to let go. That's sometimes easier said than done, but we're trying and we hope that, when you face frustrations or things that don't go exactly the way you'd planned, you can let it go, too.

Enjoy our glorious fall season and someday soon, we WILL have our Meditation Room ready and open for you!

PS. Once again, for the 8th year, we are collecting travel sized toiletries and other items to ship to soldiers in the Middle East for holiday arrival. These men and women are away from home and their families during this special time and we want them to know we are thinking about them. If you don't have anything to give, please just write a little note to say "thank you." We will slip it into one of the boxes. Details are below.

Soldier Boxes

Gail

Okay! Preparations for the holiday shipment of care packages to soldiers stationed in the Middle East are underway, as we collect personal care items to send to our troops.

Your donations of travel size toiletries, combs and brushes, razors, lip balm, toothpaste and toothbrushes, personal hygiene wipes, tampons and feminine hygiene pads, playing cards, and winter season necessities like caps knitted with sand colored or camo yarn and heat packs for hands and feet, plus much-appreciated handwritten cards and letters are being accepted at three drop-off locations in Evergreen — TallGrass, Wild Game, and Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce.

Join the campaign to let our troops know they are not forgotten by stopping by TallGrass now to choose from our selection of blank cards that you can use to write notes to soldiers and then joining us for Packing Day on Friday, November 10, at Wild Game, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Ashiatsu Massage

Gail Barefoot massage dates back centuries and now we're bringing it to TallGrass in modern times. Historically used by practitioners of martial arts to increase flexibility and recovery time from injuries, the therapist's feet apply pressure to various points along the body to restore imbalances and open energy channels. At TallGrass, after applying oil to make the massage deeply therapeutic, we use parallel bars above the massage table to support the therapist and keep the client comfortably safe. We invite you to visit our website for all the details, then call us to schedule your truly unique healing experience.
