Message from Gail Sharp, TallGrass Owner

Just in case it's not obvious to you, I love dressing up in costume. The dorkier, the better. I've never been one to be the sexy nurse or the gorgeous cat woman. Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies, an old prospector, a farm girl, or a nun are more my style. My friends are never surprised when I show up in a silly get up. Like last night at the restaurant, I arrived as the Crazy Goat Woman, which I felt was incredibly relevant for this Halloween considering it's actually true! I continue to adore my goofy goats along with all the other animals at my little ranch.

I hope you are getting in the spirit of Halloween and the upcoming holidays by approaching each day with the idea of celebration and joy! Expressing fun and celebrating every event in life is part of my mission.

On a more poignant note, my 84-year-old stepmother, Joyce Sharp, passed away this week, reminding me that every moment is to be cherished and celebrated and I plan to do just that in her honor.

Holiday Open House

We love this time of year when we get all decked out in our best holiday style and offer you a full day of spa fun and great savings on gifts.

Spa Fun: Our photobomb spanimals are on hand in the photo op corner, we have holiday-themed nail art decals, and you'll find a Style Bar in the Hair Salon from 5 to 8 p.m. Our massage therapists demonstrate Salt Stones and Singing Bowls and offer hand and arm massages.

Toy Drive: We're collecting toys and encouraging guests to donate items for the back room toy store at Mountain Resource Center's holiday party for disadvantaged children, so parents can "shop" for gifts while their children are occupied visiting Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Soldier Boxes: New this year is "A little love from Tallgrass" where guests can check out Aveda makeup, especially bright red lipstick, and then kiss a card to be included in the next Soldier Box shipment.
