TallGrass Kicks-Off Earth Month with Cut-a-thon

$1-per-minute haircuts benefit Western Resource Advocates.

EVERGREEN CO - TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon, in Evergreen, hosts a Cut-a-thon on the first Monday of April to kick-off its annual Earth Month fundraising and awareness campaign, with all proceeds benefiting Western Resource Advocates, a non-profit that works to protect the West’s air, land and water.

“Care for the world that we live in and, in particular, water conservation is at the heart of the Aveda Corporation’s mission to set an example for environmental leadership,” says TallGrass owner Gail Ridings. “As an Aveda spa, we endorse their philosophy and we ramp up our own activities in support of a clean environment each year during Earth Month.”

On Monday, April 6, a day when the spa would normally be closed for routine monthly housekeeping, TallGrass stylists are volunteering from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. to offer $1-a-minute haircuts.  It won’t be a typical day at the spa because no other services will be available and the relaxation areas will not be accessible. Only haircuts in the salon will be offered along with a few surprises planned to pamper Cut-a-thon guests.

Traditionally, TallGrass coordinates fundraising efforts in behalf of Western Resource Advocates every Earth Month by encouraging each spa department to host its own event which, like the Cut-a-thon, raises money in support of clean water. There will be bake sales, cash collected from staff members for the privilege of wearing jeans to work and treatment add-ons available for guests’ donations.
