TallGrass Aveda Spa & Salon

Gail RidingsGreen, Green, Green...

TallGrass is green times three! Not only do we use products from Aveda, one of the first spa and salon companies in the world to go green, and not only do we employ green practices throughout our spa, but this summer our valley is about as beautifully lush and green as we've ever seen it. Record rainfalls have created gorgeous fields of grasses and hillsides covered with wildflowers.

If you haven't taken the time yet this summer to get out into the foothills or mountains, I highly recommend that you make the time. An easy-to-get-to, fairly short and one of the most spectacular mountain wildflower hikes is on Shrine Pass, off the top of Vail Pass. Enjoy this last month of a great summer. We'll be missing it in February!

New Drochure

Check it out! We updated our brochure with colorful photos of TallGrass and our beautiful mountain valley; we added a selection of luxurious new treatments; and we unveiled a savings program for services received on any Monday through Thursday.

Three new services - the Body and Sole Massage and Pedicure package, the Cranial Sacral Therapy Massage and the Ultimate Chakra Pedicure - are described in our new brochure and they are featured on our web site, too. These and almost all the services on our menu are now listed with two prices. The first price is a reduced cost for the treatment when it's received on any Monday through Thursday and the second price is for Friday, Saturday and Sunday treatments.

So, for example the new Body and Sole package is a 2 - hour treatment that we think will be very popular because it includes two favorites - a 50-minute aromatherapy massage and a regular pedicure. The package is priced at $150 on weekdays and $170 on weekends.

We're interested in your feedback. Let us know what you think of our beautiful new brochure, our new services and our new pricing.

Laurie Davey

Selected because she's easy-going and comfortable to work with, does an outstanding job, and is always willing to help out, Laurie Davey is the TallGrass Spa Babe for August/September. She is pictured here with TallGrass owner, Gail Ridings.

Laurie was a TallGrass Hair Salon client, looking for a part time job after leaving a banking career and returning to college, when her hair stylist suggested she work at TallGrass. And, that's how she slipped into her Guest Relations role of greeting guests, making sure they are comfortable, escorting them to services and helping with check-out. She calls it "one of the best jobs I ever had!"

Only a few more semesters and Laurie will finish college with a degree in Human Development. "My son just graduated and he's my inspiration," she says.
