Fine Points

Our goal is to make your visit to TallGrass extraordinary in every way.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or a first time spagoer, whether you are having one service or several, we want you to have the information you need to prepare for your perfect day at TallGrass.

That’s why we prepared this guide. If you read every word or just scan through, the one message that we want to convey is please just ask if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience. It is always our pleasure to be of service to you.

Directions: If you haven’t been to TallGrass before, please make sure to call or check our website for directions because the beautiful drive to Evergreen, past Evergreen Lake and along Upper Bear Creek Road, sometimes called “millionaire’s mile,” is part of the fun of coming to TallGrass. (Avoid consulting Mapquest because sometimes their directions are way off!) As you drive along Upper Bear Creek Road, don’t pay attention to house numbers; they are out of sequence. Just go 5.5 miles from where you turn off Hwy 74 at the Lake. Once you pass Witter Gulch Road, you arrive in our beautiful valley beneath Mt. Evans where the vistas can take your breath away. And, this is true every season of the year.

Timing: Please plan to arrive early, at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your first service, so you can enjoy your spa experience without rushing. Please understand that your treatment will end on time so the next guest will not be inconvenienced. Late guests will receive the time remaining of their treatment and the normal fee will remain unchanged. We want you to give yourself enough time to change into a robe and slippers and relax in our Great Room before a warming fire in cool seasons or on the patio enjoying the views and waterfall in summer months. You can choose your favorite scent if you are having an aromatherapy service and we have Comforting Aveda Tea, cucumber water and snacks for your refreshment.

While you are relaxing in our Great Room, we encourage you to use this time for yourself – for reflection, gazing out the window on our beautiful mountain valley, and perhaps practicing a meditation technique. This is your time to enjoy the quiet sanctuary of TallGrass.

If you are a first time guest or if you haven’t been to TallGrass in a while, you should expect to be offered a tour. If, for some reason, that doesn’t happen, please just ask. We love showimg you around.

Everyone who visits TallGrass is welcome to use our complimentary steam shower prior to or after services. Again, please just ask and we will set up the steam shower for you.

If you have extra time, take at look at our Last-minute Luxury board where most services booked the same day are offered to you at 15% savings.

Dress/Undress: We want you to be comfortable and so we suggest you arrive in casual clothing. It is a good idea to leave your jewelry at home because, even though we have lockers, there is really no need for jewelry here. And anyway, you will probably remove it for your services and we don’t want you to forget it in your robe pocket.

Once again, be comfortable! Many guests remove all undergarments so that lotions and oils do not soil them. However, we want you to undress to your comfort level. It is never required that you be unclothed in front of anyone. Our therapists are well trained in the art of draping and they leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet on the massage or facial table. After your service, our therapists leave the room before you get up. During a massage you are covered at all times except for the area of the body that is being massaged. Our facial services include treatment for your décolleté and shoulders so it is a good idea to remove your bra. But, if you don’t, you can simply slip your arms out of the straps.

Our steam showers are private and there is no need for a swimsuit.

When undergoing a bikini wax service, you are given a pair of spa panties to wear.

Shower: We invite you to take a shower prior to or after your services. Please enjoy our full line of Eminence and Aveda products with our compliments, along with brushes, blow dryers and styling products that are available for your use.

Your Services: We are here to serve you. This is your special time and your preferences are important to us. Please speak up and ask for whatever you need. It’s your privilege. Let your therapist know if you want to be quiet and don’t want to talk. Be sure to tell us if the room is too warm or too cold. Feel free to ask questions, too. In the massage and facial rooms, the lights are low, the music is soothing, and lots of guests fall asleep. Go ahead, it’s natural. At our pedicure stations, we have headphones and eye masks. Relax and zone-out if you like; don’t feel like you have to get involved in a conversation. And, if you don’t like the music, just say so. We offer a variety of music options.

Pedicure or Body Scrub: If you are having a pedicure or body scrub, it is best not to shave that morning because sea salts and body polishes used during exfoliation can irritate newly shaved skin. Additionally, if you are getting a pedicure treatment, it is a good idea to bring a pair of open toe shoes, to avoid smudging your polish

Gratuities: We recognize that tipping is a personal option, entirely up to you. If you like, tips can be added to the cost of your services and distributed to the staff later. Tips can be left in cash or put on a credit card by letting the receptionist know the percentage you may want to give.

A few other points:

All lunch selections are priced at $18 per person, plus tax.
